Today was a very busy day.
--Checking in on OFF-exchange QHP Enrollments... (UPDATED)
(links to my latest healthinsurance.org exclusive, plus some important updates at the bottom)
—District of Columbia: 19.4K QHPs, 39.1K Medicaid, 15.5K SHOP (sort of)
—Massachusetts: 97.5K QHPs, 191K Medicaid
—Rhode Island: 28.8K QHPs, 3,300 SHOP, 84% payment rate
And finally, the Big News of the Day:
--Off by 0.8% this time: HC.gov QHP enrollments reach 7.15 Million
—At least 33 States have reached HHS Goal for 2015 with 25 days to go (with bar-charty goodness!)
The week of Jan. 3rd - 9th brought around 163K on HC.gov. The 10th - 16th was 400K, about 2.45x as high, as the February coverage deadline approached.
With that out of the way, things will likely drop back a bit for the next 3 weekly reports...probably not as much as the 3rd-9th, but somewhere in between, I'd imagine; perhaps 30K/day on HC.gov (210K/week), or 40K/day nationally (280K/week). That should bring things up to around 10.4 million nationally (the HHS Dept's 2015 open enrollment QHP selection target) by February 6th...and after that, all bets are off.
