I've been spending the morning laughing myself silly over this one. I've discovered that conservatives in the US are sharing this document as proof of French "no go" zones: sig.ville.gouv.fr/Atlas/ZUS/
That's because the document discusses «zones urbaines sensibles», which, when run through Google translate, comes out as sensitive urban zones. Given that in the US, references to "urban" are often code words for "dangerous minorities", it makes sense why some people who rely on Google Translate are confused.
The fact that right-wing nut jobs are sharing a document they can't read or understand as "proof" of anything is simply hilarious.
For the record, «zones urbaines sensibles» is better translated as "urban renewal zone." That document is merely a list of poor areas the government needs to focus more resources on. I've been in those areas. I've worked in those areas. They are not "no go" zones.
