Last night at a meeting on a proposed civilian oversight board in the St. Louis City Hall, chaos ensued when St. Louis Police Officers Association head Jeff Roorda was told by Alderman Terry Kennedy saying to him “First of all, you do not tell me my function." Roorda then
incited further trouble by pushing and assaulting Cachet Currie.
Roorda is the same moron who was outraged by the Rams' Hands Up display at the Raiders-Rams game in which they won 52-0, has very close ties to former Ferguson PD Officer and murderer Darren Wilson, and was caught falsifying records that led to his firing from the Arnold PD. He was later hired by Kimmswick to be their Police Chief and City Administrator in 2002. Thankfully, he lost in 2014 (and I normally HATE rooting for Democrats to lose, but this is an exception to the rule).
Rebecca Rivas at St. Louis American:
Jeff Roorda, business manager for the St. Louis Police Officer’s Association, pushed a young black woman at a public hearing on civilian review at St. Louis City Hall tonight.
Roorda, who was sitting in the audience, had just finished yelling to the public safety committee chairman Alderman Terry Kennedy, “How about some order here?”
His comment came after a police officer was trying to give his testimony on the proposed legislation of a civilian oversight board but was being interrupted by some attendees.
Kennedy responded to Roorda, saying, “First of all, you do not tell me my function.”
After hearing this, Roorda rose from his seat and was trying to move through the crowd towards the front of the room. He first tried to push the young black woman out of his way, and then, according to reports of those close by, pushed and scratched her face.
In a video posted on Twitter, the woman, St. Louis resident Cachet Currie, said she was trying to leave the room when the incident happened.
Yelling and name calling shortly ensued after. Police held Roorda back as he tried to charge at people in crowd. Roorda left the building, and Kennedy adjourned the meeting soon after. No arrests were made.
According to official sources, Roorda is being investigated for assault.
Anna Merlan at Jezebel:
Jeff Roorda, a spokesman for the St. Louis Police Officer's Association, grabbed and then shoved a woman named Cachet Currie during a meeting at St. Louis City Hall last night, an incident which was captured on video. Roorda, who attended the meeting wearing a bracelet reading "I am Darren Wilson," is also accused by bystanders of scratching Currie's face.

Rachel Lippman at St. Louis Public Radio:
A packed hearing on a proposed civilian review board for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department erupted Wednesday night into a scuffle between supporters of the bill and its police opponents.
Video from the hearing shows Jeff Roorda, the business manager for the St. Louis police union, grabbing a woman who was standing near him. The two groups quickly converged. Roorda left the room and did not return.
Although the meeting eventually resumed, the outburst led committee chair Terry Kennedy to adjourn sooner than he wanted. He said afterward that the scuffle was emblematic of the deep divisions that still exist in the city.
Video of Roorda punching Cachet Currie, and proof that HE was the instigator:
Sadly, there are pro-Roorda/pro-Wilson apologists that falsely claim that the "lady started it, not Roorda."
