Most humans find themselves occasionally (or perhaps frequently) annoyed by the things that happen in their lives. At the present time (as I’m writing this), one of my major annoyances is barking dogs, or more specially, the dog next door which has been barking non-stop for the past two hours.
Over the past several decades the house next door has been occupied by several different families, all of which had dogs which have barked frequently, loudly, and non-stop. Most frequently, the dogs bark at night, most often after midnight. Last night wasn’t bad: it barked from 12:30 to about 1:00 AM and then again from 3:00 AM to about 3:30 AM.
We’ve done all of the usual things—talking to the neighbor (and getting the door slammed in my face); talking to animal control; and filing police complaints. Nothing seems to really work.
I like dogs: I have raised and trained dogs and shown them in dog shows. My annoyance is not the dogs, but irresponsible dog owners.
