Well, it's really not a surprise! The DOJ has deemed that "there is not enough evidence to substantiate that George Zimmerman violated Trayvon Martin's civil rights". This ruling, like so many more to come in the future from the DOJ, are and will be clear examples of covert racism in action.
Regardless of the legions of pundits and citizens that felt Trayvon's murder was justified because they believe that all young black males, I guess once they no longer wear diapers are not children but are each, a menace to society, especially white society.
I kind of missed that day in school when someone, somewhere decided and began to teach that young black boys are so tainted by being non-white that their childhoods are erased as they zoom into adult criminality.
One of the central stigmas of being black in America is the state of never being an innocent. Young white thugs and I do mean thugs, are excused because "Oh, (chuckle) they were just being boys! They didn't mean no harm!" Whereas young black boys never get a pass from law enforcement or the community for "just being boys, not ever meaning harm!" The double standard s more than claustrophobic, the double standard is a recipe for young lives ended far too quickly.
Where are the defenders that speak "And Justice For All"? Perhaps they are all on vacation in some safe place where all the black faces are smiling and non-threatening!
For those of us that can still muster the hope for a better tomorrow, I extend my sympathies to the family and friends of Trayvon Martin!
