I don't see a live blog, so thought I would put one up
"This regime will always be an 'enemy of America' because it is deeply rooted in militant Islam..... wanting to impose a militatnt Islamic empire on the entire world.... in this... no place for Americans, ... no rights for women... no freedom for anyone.."
Hum? I wonder how the Palestinians of Gaza feel about the Israeli occupation?
"The deal being negotiated won't prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, it will guarantee that it will get it..."
Basically this speech said:
1. Not here to disrespect Obama, he has done done good things, and then proceeds to explain that Obama's deal is defective and wrong, and is hugely disrespecting Obama with every aspect of this speech.
2. Iran is the Enemy and we are the perpetual martyrs
3. US is our lap dog and will do just what we tell them
4. Don't eff with us, because we are the Holocaust martyrs and deserve to get a pass on all our own aggression and blood thirsty behavior.
5. Iran is incapable of behaving other than in a savage way because they are militant Islamic empire who wants to take over the world.
6. Unless total surrender by Iran, won't accept it; every alternative being considered is unacceptable to Bibi.
7. Sees the world in black and white: Iran=Evil and Israel=Good. And if the US wants to be on the side of good, do what we say.
8. Nuclear war, nuclear war.... be very afraid... and do as we say....
9. Idiiot's Guide to Bibi's Speech: "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran..."
MSNBC: Pep Rally for Bibi's re-election
MSNBC: Bibi to Congress: Don't trust Obama re. this deal, trust me.
Now will someone explain to me the actual definition of sedition by Boehner? If not technically, he has sure sold out the US to our bosses in Israel.
The "Potemkin Village" that Boehner and his neocons set up, showed a full house, applauding loudly for Bibi. Only problem is that about 50-60 Dems weren't there, but their seats were filled by R. interns.
The phrase "Potemkin village" (also "Potyomkin village", derived from the Russian: Потёмкинские деревни, Potyomkinskiye derevni) was originally used to describe a fake village, built only to impress. According to the story, Grigory Potemkin erected fake settlements along the banks of the Dnieper River in order to fool Empress Catherine II during her journey to Crimea in 1787. The phrase is now used, typically in politics and economics, to describe any construction (literal or figurative) built solely to deceive others into thinking that some situation is better than it really is. Some modern historians claim the original story is exaggerated.

REACTIONS TO SPEECH:
NANCY PELOSI'S PRESS STATEMENT
Pelosi Statement on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Address to Congress
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the Joint Meeting of Congress:
“The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests. Ours is a deep and abiding friendship that will always reach beyond party. Americans stand shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli people. The state of Israel stands as the greatest political achievement of the 20th century, and the United States will always have an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security.
“That is why, as one who values the U.S. – Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.
“Today, Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated something we all agree upon: a nuclear armed Iran is unacceptable to both our countries. We have all said that a bad deal is worse than no deal, and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons is the bedrock of our foreign policy and national security. As President Obama has said consistently, all options are on the table for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran.”
