Please excuse if already diaried...
Israel is requesting $300 million, more than the $155 million already requested by the Pentagon, for missile defense systems against Iran's ballistic missiles.
According to a Republican source Israel is asking for the procurement for the Arrow 3, a counter to Irainian long range missiles.
There have been some spending request 'disconnects' in the U.S.-Israeli missile program because of the lack of communication between the two sides as a result of the controversy over the U.S. negotiations with Iran, some congressional sources have suggested.
The article goes on to explain that there are "tensions" (really?) and a budget crunch here in the US that might preclude the US from providing this extra funding.
I thought it interesting, in light of recent events and speeches, that this request would be made.
