O'Reilly Factor ratings are soaring despite the controversy.
Fox News'
O'Reilly Factor has seen a
sharp increase in viewers:
The O’Reilly Factor delivered its highest rated telecast for the year on Tuesday, March 3, with 3.381 million total viewers and 590,000 adults 25-54 viewers. Ratings for the show grew 25 percent in total viewers and 41 percent among adults 25-54 year-to-year. The O'Reilly Factor beat both MSNBC and CNN combined in both total viewers and adults 25-54 and ranked as Tuesday's top cable news program in both viewers and adults 25-54. The O'Reilly Factor outperformed its previous 2015 high on the night of the State of the Union Address.
Perhaps the increase is similar to those who
watch NASCAR for the wrecks. Either way, Fox News isn't likely to pull the plug on O'Reilly—despite the
growling list of events that he lied about seeing. In this case, it seems there really is no such thing as bad publicity. And Fox is going to ride those controversial ratings right to the bank.
