Kansas Democrats have had enough of Kris Kobach—the worst secretary of state in the nation—and his racist comments.
They are calling for his resignation:
Anthony Hensley, D-Topeka, made the suggestion during his speech at the Kansas Democratic Party’s annual Washington Days event at a downtown hotel.
“I want to take this opportunity to call on Kris Kobach, the most racist politician in America today, to resign from office,” Hensley said.
Kobach's most recent rant drew nationwide attention after he
made outrageous claims regarding President Obama:
Kobach makes these statements partly to cater to his ultra-conservative base on talk-radio shows. But a few days ago, even for Kris Kobach, he went shamefully overboard.
Kobach told listeners it was “not a huge jump” to think Obama might try to stop future criminal prosecutions of black people in America.
Kansas Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley went
even further:
“His recent, outrageous comments about the president of the United States, and that’s who he was talking about, the president, are despicable beyond the pale and an embarrassment not only to the Republican Party, but an embarrassment to the people of Kansas,” Hensley said.
Kobach is the architect of Kansas'
voter ID laws, which kept an estimated 25,000 Kansas from the voting booth in November. He's also the man behind Arizona's
extremely controversial SB 1070 immigration law and he's been working hard to make sure
undocumented youth won't be attending college in Kansas.
