Excuse me while I vent...
The more I think about what these 47+ asshats have done, the more I realize how harmful their words are to this country. Our strength as a nation has ALWAYS come from OUR UNITY. It's supposed to be The UNITED States of America after all. The first word of our Constitution is WE. ONE nation... INDIVISIBLE. E. Pluribus Unum
The Bushies played on OUR UNITY with their "You're either with us, or your with the terrorists" bullshit. They tried to tell us that the terrorists hated us for our freedom and liberty. These ideas are at the core of our democracy along with justice, but they are not it's greatest strength. The other nations of the world may envy our principles and fear our military but they respect OUR UNITY. It is OUR UNITY that makes us the most powerful nation in the world. OUR UNITY defeated Hitler's Axis in WWII. Our military alone could never have accomplished it without the hard work of EVERYONE at home UNITED in common cause.
Now these 47+ fuckers have stabbed the President in the back and sent the message to friend and foe alike that America's unity is a bullshit illusion. They've sent the message that we're divided and perhaps conquerable. These warmongering fucks won't be happy with a war in Iran. They don't give a rats ass about the destruction of Israel. They want an all out war so they can get rid of everyone that doesn't think like them and cowtow to their corporate overlords. They want the Civil War and WWIII all wrapped into one. They want a war to end all wars so they can live in peace without having to live with gay people, or poor people, or brown people. The end results of the policies these jackasses advocate will be the extinction of the human race. The only thing that really matters to them is who makes the last fucking dollar. They want their own version of a final solution, and boy is it final.
Whew! Did I go too far? Is our UNITY truly history? I wonder... Over a quarter of a million people have signed the petition calling for action against the letter's signers. The near universal outcry by the populace in revulsion of their actions gives me hope. We can either divide like they want or come together in opposition to them. Is our unity an illision or is the con perpetrated by those who signed the letter the real illusion? That kinda depends on us.
I feel a little better, thank you.
