Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel
Rahm Emanuel's dominance of the airwaves in the Chicago mayoral run-off took a hit late last week when the SEIU began airing an ad opposing Emanuel and supporting his Daily Kos-endorsed challenger, Jesus "Chuy" Garcia.
"From up here, Chicago's never looked better," the ad begins, with a view of Chicago skyscrapers bathed in golden light.
But down here, under Rahm Emanuel, we've seen nearly 10,000 shootings, 50 neighborhood schools shut down, and a mayor who hits working people with higher taxes and fees while giving special tax breaks to his friends at the very top.
Now you see why they're spending millions falsely attacking Chuy Garcia. Because Rahm can't change his record. We need to change mayors.
SEIU is reportedly planning to spend
up to $2 million on the race. Meanwhile, New York unions are holding a
fundraiser to support Garcia, who has not had anything like the giant piles of big donor cash Rahm has.
Help Chicago get rid of Rahm—chip in $3 to help elect Jesus "Chuy" Garcia. And check out the SEIU ad below the fold.
