Let's face it...neither party is doing anything to fix the quagmire we have created for our poor and middle classes. Too many, on both sides, are in the pockets of Wall Street, adding to the portfolios of the wealthy, while draining every drop from those working daily to survive. But which party is worse...the one that is blatantly touting free market over government regulations or the one that pretends to have your back, while sticking a knife in it? And does it even matter, since the results are the same?
Welcome to Walmerica
Obama's social programs are a nice drop in the bucket. However, his secret trade agreements not only offset them, but make them practically meaningless (although, it is nice to know that I can afford healthcare, when I'm hospitalized for stress and malnourishment, from working 2 minimum-wage jobs, trying to pay off crushing student loans for a diploma that I can use as toilet paper).
.When Elizabeth Warren is considered a "maverick" and "outside the mainstream," one has to wonder what has become of the Democratic party? Where are the ideals that we once held dear? I'll tell you where...we sold them for cheap electronics and cheaper food. Oh, and security...can't forget our manic need to feel safe!
Great ideas here, folks:
• let's arm our police forces with tanks and military-grade weaponry!
• Let's spend twice as much on our privately-owned prisons, as we do on our schools!
• How about a new job program?...we simply arrest everybody in certain racial and socio-economic groups, give them harsh prison sentences and use them as slave labor, to assemble our cellphones and headsets. Bingo! Instant employment, right here in America! No unions or OSHA breathing down our necks. What? They don't need pay, they get fed three squares a day! And we pass the savings onto...Wall Street, along with a healthy tax break.
• Oh, and just to make things interesting, lets make it super easy to own a gun, carry a gun and shoot a gun...what could possibly go wrong?
Get out those buckets, people...only a matter of time until it starts trickling down!
Maybe an umbrella would be a better choice...
