I'm by far not a fan of John Stossel, but in an interview on The O'Reilly Factor, he almost literally told the emperor he's naked.
To be sure, the interview was intended to
"promote his [Stossel's] upcoming special on the Fox Business Network called “Church and State,” which argues Christianity is not under attack."
but I wonder how well visible dissent, especially with O'Reilly, will play out with Fox viewers. Will they be uncomfortable with an alternative viewpoint among their talking heads? Will it make them pause to (dare I say it?)
think for a moment? Especially on a point like this [emphasis mine]:
Stossel countered that O’Reilly was generalizing about secularists — pointing to himself as an example of an agnostic who does not criticize religion.
“Well, I’m a secularist, and I don’t want unlimited abortion,” he said. “I think you paint with too broad a brush.”
Then again, Fox Business is the network airing Stossel's special, so he's not exactly blindsiding them.
But it is refreshing to see once in a while that Fox's minions do indeed still have a few independent opinions and are not completely ventriloquist's dummies.
