Bryan and Leeim Morseman
Democrat and Chronicle has a really inspiring story about Bryan Morseman. His 9-month-old son Leeim suffers from spina bifida. Bryan Morseman runs marathons because he likes to run and because he's good enough to win money, occasionally,
for his son's medical bills.
Last spring, Morseman and his wife Sarah learned their unborn son was diagnosed with spina bifida, a developmental congenital disorder.
Following a flurry of doctor's appointments that brought the family briefly to Rochester, the Morseman family went to Philadelphia for more than 3 months so Sarah could undergo prenatal surgery.
The procedure went well and on June 20, a premature but healthy baby Leeim was born.
On March 14 and 15 of this year, Mr. Morseman won the Montgomery Marathon in Alabama and then the Tobacco Road Marathon in North Carolina. The following week, March 22, he won at the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon in Virginia. The three races brought the Morseman family $5,750 in prize money.
Morseman credits his family and employer for supporting his quest. He trains during his lunch break and late at night after his sons are asleep. His wife follows in a vehicle when he hits the road.
Leeim Moresman's family has a
GoFundMe page set up for donations.
I have created this Fund Page for my Son's Medical Needs. My son Leeim was born on June 20th, 2014 with Spina Bifida. There is three kinds of spina bifida and unfortunately Leeim has the worst of them. He is now 9 months old, and we are and have been working with phyiscal therapy, etc to try better his chances of being able to walk. I am posted this because all funds will go towards future doctor appointments, travel, and whatever needs Leeim will need as he gets older.
