Here we go again. The War Hawks in Washington and Israel, along with the media, are beating their war drums again incessantly attempting to generate support for an attack on another Middle Eastern country that is supposedly a threat to the rest of the world. Who is the lucky country this time? Why of course-Iran- and how are the hawks doing it? The answer is very simple. They are utilizing the same strategy they implemented thirteen years ago prior to our attack of Iraq. They have created a strong feeling of fear by concocting what I believe to be a fictitious story revolving around a threat that involves a single weapon that could have serious ramifications for the entire world, and this time it is a nuclear bomb, versus Weapons of Mass Destruction the Bush Administration maintained that Sadaam Hussein possessed and was subsequently discovered to be wrong after our troops invaded in 2003 and who is publicizing the loudest about this purported danger-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel-and that was made very clear, at least in his mind, in speeches he gave before Congress and AIPAC, or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, almost two months ago.
On March 3, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blessed the citizens of the United States with his presence when he spoke before Congress to condemn the United States attempt, with five other countries, to broker a deal with Iran to thwart Iran’s supposed attempts at producing a nuclear weapon that would be immediately utilized to wreak havoc in the world with its main focus being Israel. He proclaimed that such an agreement would not prevent Iran from developing a nuclear bomb but would pave the way for this to occur. He stated with an uncanny degree of certainty, even though a deal had not been worked out, that pursuing such a course of action was futile and the people involved were, for all intents and purposes, idiots. The condescending tone of the speech reflects the attitude of him and his followers that they are the only country and people in the world with the intellectual prowess and insight into what is transpiring in the world currently and will in the future.
One has to really analyze why the Prime Minister made the trek all the way to America without the blessing of the president. As a matter of fact, he incensed the White House to the point that the president refused to meet with him while he was in town. Prime Minister Netanyahu realized that he does not have the same support of this president that he has had with others so he had to circumvent the normal protocol so that he could present his case against reaching an agreement with Iran so that if such a deal was reached, the Republican controlled Congress would never approve it when it would be presented to them. In addition being that he was up for reelection and was facing strong opposition, he knew that if he demonstrated a strong resolve against any type of agreement that could portray him as weak in the eyes of the individuals of Israel, then his chances of retaining his current position would be greatly enhanced. Let us examine how this all came to pass and was instrumental in this occurring and who stood to benefit the most.
After the fall election cycle passed and the Republican Party gained control of both the House and the Senate, I believe strongly that they needed to repay individuals who helped them financially in their campaigns. I suspect that Israel’s main lobbying arm-AIPAC-the American Israel Public Affairs Committee-that has been in Washington for decades and has been dictating our foreign policy by subsidizing the campaigns of people and their respective parties who will benefit them most, heavily funded the Republican Party’s campaign to take back control of the Congress because they are filled with warmongers and like Israel, are itching to start a war with Iran. Therefore, I suspect that the leader of the House of Representatives-John Boehner-saw an opportunity to humiliate the president and his party, assist the Prime Minister with his reelection bid, and thank him in person for assisting his party’s reacquisition of the control they had been yearning for ever since Obama was elected. So, Boehner extended an invitation to the prime minister to speak before the Congress two weeks before the upcoming election. As much as I can’t stomach the prime minister, I have to say that the drama generated at both venues with his speeches was breathtaking. His first speech was given to AIPAC on March 2 and then the Congress the following day and he claimed that any deal with Iran would basically spell the end of his country’s existence and jeopardize the fate of the world. He was disseminating some of the best bovine excretion I had heard in years. Most of his declarations had no basis in fact but all he had to state was that if Iran developed the capability of producing the uranium necessary to create a nuclear bomb, the world, as we know it, would cease to exist. His delivery was so effective that the Republican Party gave him a standing ovation just like the German people used to give Hitler following one of his speeches. What they don’t realize is that Netanyahu is every bit as dangerous as Hitler was in his time since the only objective he has is to constantly keep the world in a constant state of conflict and he has done one hell of job, along with the other leaders of Israel, throughout their years of existence.
Since these infamous speeches were presented, Prime Minister Netanyahu was subsequently reelected. In addition, the nations of Germany, Russia, China, France, United States, Great Britain, and Iran, after countless hours of negotiations attempting to arrive at some sort of deal regarding Iran’s nuclear program, finally accomplished just that when they agreed to a framework of an agreement which will require more work to reach a stage where a final draft will be generated and subsequently signed by the parties involved. In spite of the fact that a major hurdle had been cleared to hopefully dissuade Iran from generating the type of uranium necessary to generate a nuclear bomb and was received throughout the world favorably almost everywhere, there were exceptions.
Prime Minister Netanyahu and members of the Republican controlled Congress were trumpeting that we could not trust the Iranians to abide by the agreement even if one was ever signed and implemented. Senator Mark Kirk equated this agreement to the Munich Agreement brokered by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain that was designed to thwart Germany’s Adolph Hitler desire to acquire territory beyond the Sudetenland and Czechoslovakia. Now, we know that Hitler ignored the terms of the deal and thrust the world into World War II but what are the real reasons they are objecting to any type of peaceful resolution to this issue? I suspect that they are speaking for three entities that would stand to profit substantially if war broke out with Iran and I will identify them now.
The first one is the Military Industrial Complex since it benefits most when we are in a state of war since it is responsible for producing all of the weapons to wage both conventional as well as nuclear war. There are countless millions of citizens in this country who work in the Defense Industry in some shape or form via contracts controlled by the Pentagon, which is in charge of the Military Industrial Complex. The only way that these people will stay employed and large profits can be generated for the companies that employ them is if our brave men and women of arms are embroiled in a major conflict with another country that has the potential to be protracted and with an attack on Iran, I guarantee that would be the case and I will elaborate later as to why that would be case.
The second entity that is chomping at the bit about having a real donnybrook with Iran is the oil industry in the United States. Despite the fact that we are the largest producer of oil in the world now and our reserves are reaching a point where are storage capacity is being challenged, the thought of conquering Iran, setting up shop, and drilling for oil that is so close to the earth’s surface that their costs would be minimal and their profits enormous on the world market is so appealing to them that I guarantee you that they aren’t concerned with the potential dangers presented not only to us but the world if in fact such an action would actually take place.
Finally, certain members of Congress who are supporting such a foray into another Middle Eastern country will be rewarded handsomely in the form of enormous cash payments via the Military Industrial Complex’s and oil company lobbyists’, as well as what Prime Minister Netanyahu will be willing to shell out for sharing his same sentiment about Iran. In addition, war with Iran will have the effect of distracting the citizens of this country of the economic plights they are confronted with on a daily basis and alleviate the pressure they are feeling from their constituents to draft some type of legislation to alter the trade and tax policies that have been passed over the years that have contributed directly to the Depression this economy is still in the grips of that started in 2007, regardless of the propaganda spewed out by the media and federal government on a daily basis to the contrary.
In spite of all of the benefactors of pursuing a course of action that has been delineated above, what you don’t hear from these same entities are the ramifications of such a decision. Since most of them have had no exposure to what heartache and destruction war has not only on humans, economies, but the earth itself, I thought now would be an excellent time to share the knowledge I have garnered over the years in my studies of military history since I am fairly confident most of them will not be sending their loved ones into harm’s way and many of you might be, much to your chagrin.
Now, the war hawks described earlier believe that conquering Iran would be a rather simple undertaking but they are sadly mistaken and I believe it would be a long drawn out affair if fought in a conventional fashion and here is why. One, they are attempting to overtake a country that has 70 million people, including a 500,000 man army, residing in a country that is slightly smaller than Alaska in area but is very rugged and mountainous in terrain. Fighting and conquering them would be very difficult because it would not allow us to utilize the standard conventional weapons we sport such as tanks, artillery, air and naval power in a normal manner, which makes up our arsenal. We would be replicating the difficulties we experienced when we were confronting the Japanese and Germans in World War II at the various venues that were similar in topography that resulted in prodigious casualties and had a devastating impact on countless families in this country and the morale of its citizens.
In addition, since the United States and Israel have been telegraphing their intentions regarding an attack, this has allowed Iran to strengthen their defenses and prepare for the ultimate attack. They have conducted war games knowing that they are in the crosshairs and will prove to be a very formidable foe with the assistance of weaponry from China and Russia. As an example of this weaponry, the Iranians have been equipped with the Sunfire Anti-Ship missile, that travels at 2.5 times the speed of sound, has the ability to change course while traveling to its target, making it virtually impossible to shoot down before it reaches its target, and carries a payload that is designed to sink ships the size of aircraft carriers, which as most people know, is the heart of our military strength. With that weapon, they could sink enough of our ships to block the Strait of Hormuz, which could cause the skyrocketing of oil and gas prices and a worldwide depression.
Another consequence could be the development of WWIII and a war fought with conventional weapons with the United Sates facing not only Iran’s formidable military forces but also China’s and Russia’s since they have made it very clear to us and the rest of the world that any attack on Iran would be viewed as an attack on them. This fact which would require the reinstitution of the draft because of the lack of ground forces that our country currently possesses. What most people fail to remember is that during WWII, we had ten million men and women participating in the protection of our country’s freedoms from Germany and Italy from the East and Japan from the West. This process would be easily executable since draft boards have been prepared for years for such a scenario. So, for all of the people who support attacking Iran, I hope you don’t have children between the ages of 18 and 25, who are in good health, since they will be shipped over to the sands of Iran to die not to eliminate a world threat but to destroy a country Israel believes to be a potential enemy and to make the Military Industrial complex and oil companies affluent beyond their wildest dreams.
Also, add the fact that Russia and China could support Iran against any would-be adversary with nuclear weapons. In layman’s terms, what this means is that an attack on Iran could trigger a nuclear exchange between the United States, Israel, Russia and China, resulting in a nuclear holocaust that would be what we all know as Armageddon. The result of an exchange of ICBM’s with nuclear payloads would be the extermination of hundreds of millions of people initially and then the survivors would all die a slow agonizing death due to radiation poisoning. In addition, the smoke generated by the nuclear blasts would produce such an enormous amount of smoke that sunlight would be blocked from reaching the earth causing what is known as a nuclear winter, which would also hamper our food chain with the elimination of crop growth and hinder the raising of livestock.
I want to refresh the memories of the citizens of this country about what was the main deciding factor in our winning World War II, since I believe World War III is lying just around the corner for this country. In spite of the fact that Japan surrendered after two atom bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th and 9th respectively, their country and its citizenry were primed for ultimate defeat, as were the people of Germany and Italy four months earlier, and you know why? The answer is in fact very simple. We were able to produce more armaments than the Axis of Power countries combined that allowed us to slowly suffocate them in a way that caused their eventual capitulation. Now, we are unable to make that claim anymore since our manufacturing sector has been decimated over the past 30+ years since the various administrations and members of Congress passed tax laws and trade policies that encouraged the various manufacturing businesses to ship our jobs overseas so that they could take advantage of lower wages to allow them to generate enormous profits at the expense of our economy and national security. And which country benefited the most? Why, of course, China. That’s right, China. And who is an ally of Iran? That’s right, China. So, when we attack Iran, not only will China and Russia utilize their military power, China will be able to bring their manufacturing superiority into the equation, spelling doom for us.
Before I close, I want to pose a question to all of the backers of an attack on Iran. Why would Iran want to attack anyone in the world, let alone Israel? What would they hope to gain with this action? I know Israel and the United States want everyone to believe that they aspire to attack Israel since ex-President Ahmadinejad of Iran stated that Zionism should be eliminated, which Israel intentionally took out of context and twisted it to mean that they wanted to wipe them off the map. Lord knows that Israel has done everything in their power to generate resentment toward themselves with the way they treat people in the Arab nations, especially the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, but Iran is not stupid enough to attack them with a nuclear weapon or any other country in the world since the ramifications would be so grave for them that it would serve no purpose other than the elimination of not only their country but all of their citizens.
Finally, whether you share my sentiment or completely disagree is solely your choice. I believe strongly that an attack on Iran is imminent but can be avoided by all of us by contacting not only members of Congress but the president himself, even though he is projecting the image of not wanting to pursue war but I believe that to be dubious in nature, with the objective of dissuading them from traveling down another path of war that will not only result in enormous casualties to our brave men and women of arms but could bring us to the precipice of extinction. So the decision is in all of our hands. My hope is that all of us will make the necessary effort to attempt to save not only our country but the rest of the world.
