Jeb Bush
Jeb Bush couldn't be bothered to appear at the Faith and Freedom Summit in Iowa over the weekend, but he sent one of his top advisers to
throw chunks of red meat like this:
"We have got to defund Planned Parenthood, by the way, and Gov. Bush supports those efforts."
By the way, we have got to cut cancer screening. By the way, we have got to cut birth control. By the way, we have got to cut testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
At least, we have got to do all that as long as the organization doing the cancer screenings and providing birth control also provides abortion, even though it does so with money that does not come from the federal government. Screw all those people who need to be tested for HIV, and the women who need mammograms. And making it harder to obtain birth control can't lead to more abortions as long as we shut down all the abortion providers, right? (Forget about all the women who died from back-alley abortions prior to Roe v. Wade, and forget that back-alley abortions are on their way back.)
Jeb Bush, by the way, is doing nothing more than getting in line with the rest of the Republican field when he sends an adviser out to advocate defunding cancer screenings and HIV testing as long as they're coming from Planned Parenthood.
