With all the problems we have had with Comcast merging with Time Warner, AT&T trying to merge with Direct TV, here is a new one for you. I have been a customer of Verizon for 25 years, since they own the lines here where I live in California, used to work for them before they were called Verizon, when it was called GTE Communications, when I mentioned this to a supervisor of Verizon she told me "I work for Verizon, and GTE but next year we will be called Frontier Communications". Also talked with a Tech from Verizon and he confirmed it. Went to my computer looked up Frontier Communications read background on them. Verizon is getting into owning the Gateway for all Internet providers to go through. I asked will I have to get cost from Frontier , was told yes, so question "am I going to have to pay both Verizon and Frontier in order to have phone service in my home?
Frontier is based out of Connecticut. I have some information to tell you. How many people living in California, Florida, and Texas aware of the following. Here in digest form is a breakdown:
1) Verizon has purchased AOL for 4.4 Billion dollars
2) Verizon has sold all operations in California, Florida, and Texas to Frontier Communications based out of Connecticut.
3) Told by a supervisor of Verizon and technicians of Verizon that they will no longer be called Verizon in 2016, they will be called Frontier.
4) They are getting out of the phone business and going to become a gateway company for all internet providers with no government control or regulations.
5) Tech calls are sent to a tech sitting in India or the Philippines when so many Americans are out of work and would give anything to have those jobs. Instead for getting tax credits, they should hit with high fines for every job they ship out of the country.
When you call a tech for Verizon do you ever ask them where are they are based, if not they are based in India, and the Philippines, when I call I always ask them, I always keep their names, just in case I have any problems with them.
The general public is not aware of the backroom negotiation going on, between the fcc and public utilities company’s. This why they get away with it. When I asked if the customers are going get notifications, told “I am sure they will”, why after all the dirty work has been done and it too late to stop it?
