It's beating the real opposition, the lunatic fringe on the Right, the Clown Car Republicans and their cockamamie ideas for our beloved country, which IS and should be our goal.
You want to see the first woman President or a fire-breathing, populist President? Good on you! Because either one of them will be 10,000 times better than any one of the lackwit candidates being presented to the conservative voters of America by the Republican Party.
Here's the thing...
I've hung out here many long years now, twelve of them, come this October.
I watched the early Primary Wars in summer of 2003, between supporters of Howard Dean and, well, pretty much everyone else who had a hat in the ring at that point.
I watched the replay of that in 2008, when the PUMA element came and then went.
While CONFLICT drives the news cycle on tv Media, it shouldn't work that way here.
For Bernie Sanders supporters (of which I am one), I will ask you to remember that the candidate himself has publicly announced that HE and his campaign will NOT be engaging in Negative Advertising.
Bernie Sanders wants a campaign based on POLICY and how it affects all of us. He has no interest whatsoever in Hillary bashing. Which makes me feel that he is an honorable man who wants to win - but not at any cost. An idea which it would behoove all of us who support this candidate to remember when conversing with our fellow Kossacks about the Race to the White House.
For those of you who are Hillary Clinton supporters, I will ask you to stop saying Bernie Sanders can't win. That Hillary Clinton is inevitable. You may be right, in the end. But we're not at THE END, this is early on in the primary scramble and as anyone who has watched politics for any length of time knows... no one is inevitable and early "front runner" status is nothing more than a lede for newspaper headlines.
So write your diaries. Support your candidate of choice. Extol their positives and post links to stories about them elsewhere to prove a point if you wish. Talk about them till the cows come home. Post pictures of Meetups and Events, build excitement about the candidate YOU want to voter for.
But for gawd's sake, do not participate in the candidate bashing which has already been going on too much around here. It only breeds mistrust and anger in the people who read the comments written which are intended to demean the candidate of their choice. Don't bash the dreams of someone just because you aren't having that same dream, would you please?
But most of all, REMEMBER: we'll ALL have to get behind just one of them next summer as OUR Democratic Party candidate for President...
and it's going to take ALL of US working together to prevent the election of one of those crazy clown car candidates from the rightwing, to the Oval Office of The People's House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on November 8, 2016.
So go on with your bad selves! Be supportive and enthusiastic. Champion your man or woman.
Just don't be a Debbie Downer in the diaries for the other candidate during the primary season, will you? The last thing this place needs is another fucking Pie Fight which will last for months and alienate far too many of our fellow Users. After all, in the end they and we are all on the same team.
