Stephen Colbert tests Marshal Mathers (Eminem) on his knowledge of Bob Seger songs
The "Only in Monroe" public access show broadcast out of Monroe, Michigan got a treat when Stephen Colbert dropped by and took the hosting reins for the day. It was awesome. As Colbert says during his intro, he's not had a show for a few months and he's been itching to do one, and since his future studio is still under construction, he decided to go to Monroe, Michigan and host their show.
He does a "This is Monroe" segment to begin which includes poking fun at Monroe's heritage of inventing the La-Z-Boy chair and the Monroe Boat Club's tradition of serving muskrat.
If you want to know how muskrat tastes it's like eating a rat...with more musk.
He brings "Only In Monroe" regular hosts Michelle Bowman and Kaye Lani Rae Rafko Wilson on and gets them drunk while having a nail-painting contest. Finally, he interviews a Michigan native named Marshal Mathers—better known to the world as Eminem. Colbert, in perfect Colbert pitch, grills Mathers on his local Michigan music knowledge—specifically, Bob Seger songs. It's fantastic.
Watch it all below the fold.
