I'm not about to apologize or argue about something something.
ISIS Miitants Destroy Palmyra Stone Lion
I remember the bile rising to my throat when the fucking Taliban destroyed the ancient Buddhas.
I admit, I'm on the side of historical artifacts against humans who are so fucking hateful and stupid. I don't mind being called out on my stance.
Ironically, I feel the same about destroying Confederate statues/monuments. They are part of an ugly history -- if they are on federal land -- move them to a museum in an exhibit for traitors. If they are on private land -- go for it -- you have rights.
Destruction and theft of national heritage/art/treasures is an abomination. I won't even go to the Nazi grand thefts. Let's talk about the Elgin marbles in the British Museum -- stolen. Native American human remains, artifacts -- stolen -- in the Smithsonian and other museums. A shiteton of art in the Hermitage. The least we can say is that they were stolen not destroyed.
I'm generally not a violent person except as related to attacks on animals, family members, the weak, and art. ISIS is a plague on humanity. They brutally murder men, women, children. They offer zero. I don't care what it takes to eliminate their infectious damage to humankind.
