Two posts from today's Huff-Po. Pick you're poison. It's crazy making time in politics and here are two great examples. He can win just not right now. That's not a bad place be. You want to peak in Nov 2016 not now.
One post is entitled
Clinton is not Stronger than Sanders by Liam Miller which is based on a CNN poll. It's a all
the internal data is posted here so knock yourself out with statistics.
Miller begins:
A recent CNN poll shows Sanders can beat the possible Republican nominees; and mind you, that's with Sanders not having full name-recognition yet (as in, 41 percent of respondents said they didn't know who he was).
So Sanders can beat the GOP field even when only 59% recognize his name. I'll take that.
He concludes:
Sanders, of course, will have none of it, as his Sunday appearance on Meet the Press amply shows. Chuck Todd tried to play the oversimplified, sensationalist hand he'd carefully constructed and Sanders owned him. This is part of why Sanders appeals; it's not just that he's disrupting the dysfunctional, sleazy, corrupted political game for the people who play it, he's deconstructing political coverage at the same time. It's truly a joy to watch; and it's an edge he has over every other candidate.
The message to those inside the beltway is simple: there's a new paradigm in town. So get with the revolution, already.
As I commented on another site today. It's early, our state primary-caucus isn't until March 26, 2016. We've barely left the station and the train is gathering speed. At this time the beltway geniuses all echoed that Obama was unelectable.
Next Post:
Bernie Sanders Grassroots Problem-Grassroots Dems Love Bernie Sanders. They Just Don't Think He Can Win. This one based on YouGov/Huffpo polling. The internals are also there for all to see. And if you don't want to dive deep they provide handy graphs and charts "with circles and arrows explaining what each one is." Thank you Arlo Gutherie.
It begins with a denial which is always encouraging:
Most Americans, even if they're planning to vote in next year's presidential primaries, aren't paying much attention....
(The survey is)focusing on the people who are tuning in: the party activists who hold local office, work on campaigns or make significant volunteer commitments. Their opinions shouldn't be considered a prediction of who'll end up winning, but they do provide a better snapshot of where the campaigns stand right now.
Okay the train has left the station but still has a lot of headroom for steam. That's fair.
Then in Power Point fashion a couple of paragraphs later they tell you what they are going to tell you.
The Democratic activists surveyed are significantly more liberal than the party as a whole -- exactly the kind of people who've rallied around Sanders as the de facto alternative to Clinton. But most of the activists see Clinton as the Democrats' only viable option for winning the presidency.
Actually you can pretty much stop there but you might want to look at the pretty graphics that come thereafter.
After a bunch of wheel spinning they go way out on a limb in closing: (Snark)
With months still to go before anyone casts a primary ballot or votes in a caucus, it's premature to write off any candidate's chances....Democratic activists see the race for their party's nomination as a two-candidate contest, and Clinton is winning. (And we'll vote for that the party nominee.)
The last part could be a cut and paste from July 2007 for all it's worth.
Meanwhile in real politics land of the non-naval-gazing variety. Our Olympia Bernie "House Party" tomorrow night the 29th has had to be moved twice because of so many RSVPs. It will now be held at the State Capitol. Get that. We are rallying at the Capitol because we ran out of space elsewhere. In our wildest dreams we never came close that that interest for Obama in 07
So I'll pimp the link one more time. Find a party or plan you're own. It's still not too late. Here is the link. Bernie Sanders Event Finder
If you can't find a party that works or has room plan you're own event. The button is the top left corner. It doesn't have to be a big deal. If you are looking others are likely also. If not you can invite a couple of friends or just you're family. You can't fail. You will get the code for Bernie's appearance and every attendee counts. I saw an RSVP number earlier today of over 86,000. Let's break a 100,000. Eat your heart out Hillary.
Unfortunately I won't be awake to rouse any more rabble when this posts. I work late and write even later so I'll still be catching zzzzzzzs. My editor also doubles as my Avatar so please pardon any typos we may have missed.
