Markos, it seems clear that you strongly back Hillary Clinton for the Democratic primary. And that's fine, most Democrats do. Part of your support for her, alas, has involved some rather below-the-belt criticism of Bernie Sanders (the latest Hill piece was a real low blow, almost swiftboating). Perhaps I've missed it, but I've yet to hear you say anything positive about Bernie at all.
Even with your preference for Hillary, this is confounding. See, it seems to me that everything you've been working for since the release of Crashing the Gate has culminated in Bernie's campaign. They have managed to bypass the over-cautious, DC-insider consultancy class to build an energized grassroots organization using modern communication tools in a highly effective way. Maybe you don't like some of Bernie's policies or maybe you just don't like his personal style or maybe you don't like that he is an independent running as a Democrat, but surely there's no argument that he is forthright about his beliefs, proud of his liberalism, and entirely disconnected from neoliberal DLC circles. Whatever it is that turns you off about him, can you not at least acknowledge that he and his supporters are genuinely "crashing the gate"? I mean, c'mon, yesterday he had a national videochat with around 100,000 people...I can't grasp how that wouldn't impress you.
This diary isn't about Hillary vs Bernie. I'm not asking why you prefer her to him. I'm asking if you can, at the very least, acknowledge that his campaign represents what you've been asking the Democratic party to do for the last decade.

PS: Thanks for all the unexpected recs and tips! Much appreciated.
PPS. I want to underscore the main point here: Bernie's campaign appears to conform with the mandate in the 2006 book, Crashing the Gate, and it's strange that Kos hasn't praised him for it. Bernie is running a positive, grassroots, principled, honest, unapologetically-liberal campaign, and every progressive should be cheering for it, including Clinton and O'Malley supporters. Kos helped build the foundation for Bernie's campaign, so why the crickets? Kos should be bragging!
