That's it. I've had it with all the DNC's runaround bullshit. Enough is enough!
Here it is, August 3, and as of this morning, the Democratic National Committee, chaired by Congressmember Debbie Wasserman Schultz, still has not prepared and announced a complete slate of debates for the Democratic presidential candidates for the 2016 primary election season.
DNC Current 2016 Presidential Debate Schedule
By this point during the 2008 election cycle - the last time there was an open seat for the presidency - the DNC had scheduled a total of 17 debates, including six debates that had already occurred by a comparable point in this election cycle. As it now stands, the DNC has announced only six (6) Democratic presidential debates to take place for this entire primary election cycle, yet not a single one of those debates has even been given an actual calendar date, a venue, or has attracted a sponsor. The DNC has not even announced the qualification criteria for selection and inclusion of participants in those debates! Outrageous!
I'm sick of the DNC's foot dragging. I'm sick of them trying to game the system, when they should remain scrupulously fair and neutral.
Call DNC Chair Congressmember Debbie Wasserman Schultz
The phone number is: (202) 863-8000. Ask the switchboard operator to connect you to the Chairwoman's office. Then leave a message on her voicemail. Tell her your name, where you live, and why we need her to act!
We need a minimum of twelve (12) Democratic presidential debates to take place throughout the Democratic presidential primary season, to begin just as soon as possible, and by the end of August at the very latest. Each of those debates needs a firm date, a suitable confirmed venue, and an appropriate organizational sponsor (i.e. League of Women Voters, etc.).
As DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has an obligation to Democrats everywhere, and ultimately to the American public at large, to fulfill the duties of her position - impartially, professionally and expeditiously. The current situation is simply unacceptable. We Democrats deserve better than we've been getting from the DNC thus far.
Please: Tell Debbie Wasserman Schultz to fix the problem.
Once again, that phone number: (202) 863-8000.
Let's make it ring off the hook.

10:00 pm EDT update for comment:
Why is it that whenever somebody around here tries to rouse support for an action that's affirmative, optimistic, and/or empowering, the comments section of the diary suddenly gets overrun with negative remarks from the trolls, the naysayers, the foot draggers, the doomsdayers, the sad sacks, and the "glass-is-always-empty" types, offering up their specious, disingenuous arguments to try to discredit the premise of the diary, hijacking the dialogue into irrelevant, extraneous issues, and/or dragging down the dialogue into the swamp of petty bickering and squabbling?
Is that what you need to do in order to feel important? Is it really the best you've got to offer? What's the payoff? Why even bother?
