Welcome to the Bernie Story Round Up! Many stories are written weekly about the personal experiences of many Kossacks in their interactions with voters, attending a Bernie Sanders campaign event, or just describing the amazing energy that is galvanizing the 99% into action. Some of these stories make it up our vaunted recommended list whilst others slip down the recent list with few eye balls catching their attention. For the next two months I will collect typically on Friday or the following Monday all the personal stories from Dailykos and from across the country in order to tell a broader picture of the campaign through the eyes of voters and not the pundits.
If you wish to submit a diary to the BSR simply send me a Kosmail and I will add your contribution to the entry! If you have pictures, videos, graphics or any sort of art and media related to Bernie Sanders then please feel free to use this as a venue to share it. Ether by submitting it to me or simply adding your contribution in the comment thread!
Disclaimer: The BSR is put out by citizen volunteers and there are no paid campaign staff working on this project. This diary is not a space to tear down other candidates. Please leave debating the merits of Hillary Vs Bernie for other diaries as we have plenty of those. This space is for Bernie supporters to talk about their experiences in meat space. If you can't abide by that then I kindly ask you not to participate in this series.

It's been fantastic reading some of
invisiblewoman's diaries on Bernie. This story made the recommended list and talks about how invisiblewoman were put off by a diary Kos (I won't link to that pie fight) wrote and the subsequent actions she and Mr invisible decided to take.
(Bernie's) Conspirators at work
I have to confess that I was, at first a little off-put by kosâ entry. I mean, there has been plenty of dicey behavior by both the pro-Bernie and pro-Hillary factions. And while kos did SAY he wasnât supporting one candidate over the other, in fairnessâ¦when you issue statements proclaiming that one of the candidates hasnât got a chance, for good, ill or indifferent you do at least create a perception of support. So, yes I was a little miffed at first, but then I realized the most important part of his piece wasnât any of the cherry-picked data, or the justifications that are inconsistent with his 2007-08 logic and worldview; no, it was the part I kept and keep coming back to. At the end the of his entry, our pal kos offered the following challenge:
âSo worry less about me, and worry more about what you can do to build Bernie's support base. That's what Crashing the Gates was all about. And then maybe, just maybe, you can end up proving me wrong, and wouldn't that be the sweetest revenge of all?â
See how we responded, beneath the squiggle that makes me giggle.
Next we have
CaptainPoptart chiming in about attending a Bernie event in Claremont New Hampshire this past weekend. Captain is enthusiastic for Bernie and talks not only about attending the event but about other well attended campaign stops going on through out New Hampshire. Feel the Bern!
Bernie in Claremont NH: A view from the Crowd's Perspective
It is a retail politics that has always forced the candidates to garner votes one ballot at a timNew Hampshire has a reputation for, and long history of retail politics. This is one of the
main reasons put forth for itâs first in the nation Presidential Primary status, despite the fact that it hardly represents the rest of the country from a demographic point of view. To most of us residents of this mostly white, mostly rural early primary state, that means meeting the candidate in someoneâs living room or at a local diner or coffee shop.e.
But if this past weekend is any indication, Bernie Sanders is turning this paradigm upside down. He is gathering his votes in the thousands at a time, and complains jokingly of having trouble finding venues large enough to hold the crowds that want to hear his message. The crowds were large and definitely feeling the Bern.
richardfranklinmorse brings us the latest in Bernie music! The Bern has been inspiring creatives all across the country (including yours truly) to make campaign stuff. Yes I believe talented artists should be compensated and I hate some aspects of the free intellectual movement but generally I've been ok with a lot of the grassroots music and art that has been flowing out of Bernie's campaign like a breath of fresh air.

occupystephanie wrote a wonderful diary about the political revolution in her town.
Political Revolution in My Town
About a week before our July 29 meeting for Bernie, I got a call from someone who
needed a ride to the event, and she turned out to be our special guest.Willa Kenoyer worked on Bernie's first Congressional campaign "back in the day" and is eager to be involved in his bid for the presidency. She will be doing a meet up for Bernie at the retirement home where she lives because she says, "Those people don't even know who Bernie is!".
It was standing room only with a 75% show rate which is good for this town. Out of the 185 Bernie supporters assembled half were men and half women. As a local activist, I am used to meeting with other greybeards such as myself, so the age spread was thrilling with 37% younger than 30 and 37% older than fifty. One woman commented that it was so wonderful to see the youth in the room with students from high school as well as college.

VL Baker who is the staff writer on climate news has gone all in for Bernie as she believes he is the best chance that the human race has for addressing climate change before it is too late. She has penned a wonderful piece about her experience shopping at her local veggie market and is well worth checking out!
Bernie Sanders is kicking ass at my local market
There's something happening in Florida and it's out of sight under the radar.
I've been supporting Bernie ever since he announced, kind of soft support at first but the more I learned and listened my support has grown to enthusiastic almost over the top disbelief that there is actually one authentic, uncorrupted, brilliant person who is willing to take on the greed and corruption of our self destructive economic and political system.
Though I'm time challenged I've attended a couple of local strategy meetings that are trying to give support to the national Bernie campaign by bringing local supporters together to organize for phone banking, door knocking etc. The local supporters are diverse in age, sex and ethnicticity with varied talents, time and issue priority differences. But we're all strongly commited to electing Bernie and have confidence in his electibility. I had never met most of the people in my Bernie group and never see them outside of the meetings as we organize online, so it was my belief that we were just a small pocket of sanity in the big, purple, toxic mess of Florida politics. Boy, was I wrong.
Next we have a diary by unapologeticliberal777 who wrote about Bernie continuing his campaign all across the country instead of just a few states. Bernie is going to Seattle and I hope he packs yet another arena!
Bernie Sanders: Town Hall in Seattle, WA on August 8, 2015
Bernie Sanders is coming to Seattle, Washington for a town hall meeting on August 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
This town hall is the first event for the Sanders campaign after the 3,700 historic house parties that took place on July 29, 2015 and attended by more than 100,000 excited and committed supporters! Here are the details regarding the event:

hangingchad comes through with a very positive message about Bernie and voters. At first I was looking for the snark tag but the diary is written in a great positive tone. Something we can use a little more of!
Bernie Sanders Loves you Yes all of you
Itâs that kind of love that provokes action to do and be the right thing (we all miss his example dont we?). Itâs that kind of love that transcends race, gender and stereotype. It transcends party (insert 50 state strategy right here) and the amount of money you have in the bank.. (I bet he loves the 1 percent too he wants them to do the right thing i.e. invest in us all of us). He loves us all; He loves the officer who walks the beat and wants them all to be good officers. He loves the old, the sick, the poor, the middle class, the wealthy, the soldier, the sailor and marine, He loves the oil Baron and coal miner.. He loves Markos (I do also even if I donât always agree with him). He loves the American Indian, the Latino, the People of Color and all skin tones. He cares about each so deeply and you can tell by his policies and the way he acts. And how does he act? With respect but with a wisdom to tell you if your behaving not in the best interests of others in our country. He has chosen policies that we can all stand behind because they build up our nation and show that We can win without massive amounts of cash if we work hard enough to talk about his message.
Kochbusters is extremely happy (as am I) to finally get his Bernie gear in the mail. It took over a month for my shirt to come but I forgave Bernie since all his gear is pretty much union made!
Bernie T shirt came in the mail today

chandu brought us a tongue in cheek new video about the Bernie Train. Choo Choo MOFO indeed.
Tsang, one of our brand new users joined the community to share a story of attending one of Bernie's meetups on July 29th. Tsang (along with me) and 100,000 people gathered in homes, bars, and other complexes through out the country to speak about Bernie, organize, and hear his message. It was wonderful and there have been many community diaries on it. Here is just one from that amazing day:
Bernie Community Party
Last night I attended a Bernie organizing event in my apartment building. We ended up having over 200 people. I met a lady who told me about Daily Kos and asked me to post my experience here...so here I am.
At our organizing event, there were people of all ages and races. We had several people who were not politically involved, but Bernie had inspired them to register to vote and get involved. We talked a lot about organizing and how we can register new Bernie voters. We have a great game plan and I think we can win our precinct.
There were many diaries that I have not included in this Bernie Story Round Up. I will endeavor to make a longer and more cohesive Round Up next week if the community thinks that this will make a good addition to all of our Bernie news. I'm a huge fan of the Bernie News Round Up but I think we need to have a place where our community and the local voices are heard as well!
If you would like something included next week - please feel free to leave a comment or send me a kosmail.
