I was ADDRESSING this post to the people who read BLACK KOS! I did not know I was "misappropriating" anything. So, I am so sorry to offend you. That said, it is a blog post and it was a mistake. No need to ever worry about me addressing the Black Kos community again.
Thanks
I seldom allow myself the instant gratification of an immediate response. That's because my 1st response is all emotion and no tact. However, I can and will make exceptions. Today is one of those days.
While I understand the passion driving the Black Lives Matter movement, for the love of GOD will the activists who WANT people to listen to our message stop being so rude and disrespectful. Rudeness and disrespect does nothing to further any cause, and helps those who are against us point the finger and say "See, that is why their children keep getting shot by the police."
As adults, it is our job to model behavior for our youth. How does interrupting a speech by Bernie Sanders, for the 2nd time I might add help this cause? HOW?
We want our children to be well mannered and behave as if they have some sense. So, perhaps the ADULTS in the room can do the same.
As an FYI, I AM a Bernie Sanders fan, have been for several years. His message is consistent with what he has always said. He also is speaking out on the Black Lives Matter movement, and while he is a socialist, the BEST ideas in this country are based on socialism.
Let the people who come to rallies hear the candidates they came to hear. Your interruptions only piss people off. I too, am a black mom and you definately pissed me off. Not the first time Bernie Sanders was interrupted, but THIS time.
Please STOP - Civility, graciousness and common courtesy go a long way. Try it sometimes. Here is the link to the story. If you know something I don't PLEASE SHARE in a CIVIL Manner. I will be happy to listen.
Thanks for reading.
