Syriza has won another national vote in Greece, with almost the same majority the party got in the vote that preceded the all the tumult that came when the party's leader, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras capitulated to the terms of Greece's European lender/masters.
Honestly, I don't know enough about Greek politics to really say what this portends for the country, or for future discussions about Greece's massive national debt. I don't know what this might mean for the global economy.
What I do find interesting is that there wasn't a single diary today on DailyKos today, or in anticipation of the vote. Because....Bernie, the Donald, Carly, Dr Ben, Clinton fatigue, debate-gate, etc.
And, yet, no doubt, I'll read all sorts of complaints about how the mainstream media doesn't cover important stuff and that it's giving entirely too much time to Trump.
Do you remember when it seemed every other diary on the Rec List WAS about the Greek debt crisis? Y'know --- for a a few weeks, anyway, because that was the liberal cause d'jour for almost a whole month?
As Walter Kelly used to say in the Pogo comic strip: "We have met the enemy and he is us."
If we want to change the world, we're going to have to be a lot more serious, consistent, persistent, and more self-aware of our own lack of seriousness and consistency.
That is all. For now.
The rest is up to you.
