A daily series, Connect! Unite! Act! seeks to create face-to-face networks in each congressional district. Groups regularly socialize but also get out the vote, support candidates and engage in other local political actions that help our progressive movement grow and exert influence on the powers-that-be. Visit us at Daily Kos every morning at 7:30 A.M. Pacific Time to see how you can get involved. The comment thread is fun and light-hearted, but we're serious about moving the progressive political agenda forward.

Come across any strange old pictures lately?
Part II (Roman numerals look nice) of the Deja vu diary yesterday, except that one was deja vu from the future. This one is The Wrinkle in Time (that book is one of my favorites)
~~~~~~~~~~
I've been basically kinda stuck at home due to our french drain project that turned out to be another crazy thing. There was cement and a bunch of lava cap found under the soil. A 50 foot trench 10 feet deep was the plan. Of that 50 feet length of the thing, 35 feet were lava cap. The poor guy we hired had to go get a ram jack and spend basically most of two days busting through the rock. After getting about 8 feet deep he called it quits and put in the french drain. I'm pretty sure it will work.
While stuck here, I spent plenty of time doing all the errands that need to be done around here daily. I also spent some time goofing around on the internet. By goofing around I mean not spending too much time at the usual sites I visit even including DailyKos. I just wanted to wander around aimlessly wasting time while the constant jack-hammering of lava cap made my teeth rattle. This construction is loud.
Well I came across some old pictures that intrigued me. I'll put up a few here in the introduction and then a few below the fold. Please post any such interesting old pictures you may have stumbled upon. There is so much out there.
The original Ronald McDonald
The original Winnie the Pooh
NDN operator "Helen of Many Glacier Hotel"
A few more after the fold
