I came to Kosablanca for the politics.

The politics? What politics? We're in a dessert. We only have pie.

So, I was misinformed.

Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who are caring and supportive of one another. So bring your stories, jokes, photos, funny pics, music, and interesting videos, as well as links—including quotations—to diaries, news stories, and books that you think this community would appreciate. Readers may notice that most who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but newcomers should not feel excluded. We welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
It's hard to say, now, what maundering meander delivered me unto the vast waistband of the great orange recipe repository in the summer of '07, but, given my proclivities,

I was a refugee from kuro5hin—'Technology and Culture, from the Trenches'. Very popular at one time. Never was much fun to hang out there, though. Too many disagreeable disagreements. So..., |
Then, as now, I spent a lot of time wandering the info-superhighway and one evening I took the off ramp to Kosablanca...

Fortunately, the jury was merciful and I was free to commit even more egregious transgressions

Having not been bojo'd for stepping outside the stated aims of the site—more and better recipes during presidential elections—I bided my time and dissipated my probation doing community service for the Overnight News Digest...

Where I practiced breaking the rules of Markos Markup Language. You know where you're supposed to just type in stuff and maybe drop in a picture or a link now and then.
I thought I should be able to make my diaries the way I wanted them to look. I don't know if I'll be able to torque the upcoming new rules to do that, but you never know :). |
New skills in hand I scraped together enough mojo build a little roadhouse with Jim in IA called SciTech on the ruins of DK2. Pretty popular little pub, it turns out.
I still hang out at the Overnight News and servin' up shooters at SciTech. I've been spending a lot of time here in the Kitchen, too. It's been fun. Hope it continues.
