Les Beastiables ("Les Bez"): Beasties say the darnedest things!
Today's Beastiable is the beaver version of Matt Bevin, Republican candidate for governor of Kentucky. He ignores math in order to claim that dismantling Obamacare would be a good thing. You might think that in a state that has seen roaring Obamacare success, this would be one state where Republicans would veer away from the party line. And you would be wrong. I thought what he said was beastly enough that he has earned his turn as one of Les Beastiables.
NOTE FOR NEW READERS: This series features a new Les Beastiables cartoon every Wednesday about 1:30-2:00 PM Eastern. We indulge in a little Franglish because the French are tres classy. But I digresse.
For serious source information, please join me below the orange squirming of beasties on the hot seat. Then you'll be able to "cleanse your palate" with a cute photo before you leave.

A partial transcript:
We will transition everybody from the state-level Obamacare exchange, which is the Kynect exchange, to the federal level exchange.... We don't need the redundant effort at the cost of hundreds of millions of dollars to taxpayers in the state.
Mr. Bevin says he wants to dismantle "the Kynect exchange" to save hundreds of millions of dollars, but that is not the cost to run the Web site, that is the cost to provide care. In total, the state has spent a little over one hundred million dollars per year. In exchange for this,
according to independent analysts, Medicaid expansion alone added $1.2 billion dollars in revenue to healthcare providers. A good deal that doesn't even begin to count the people eligible for "Obamacare" who are not part of the Medicaid program, such as people like me who work as independent contractors.
In addition, according to Jack Conway, Bevin's opponent in the Governor's race:
Kynect officials estimated that Bevin’s plan to end the state exchange and transfer Kentucky’s healthcare system to the federal exchange would cost Kentucky at least $23 million in IT work alone, while taking at least 9 months to complete the transition.
Additionally, Bevin’s healthcare plan could dramatically spike insurance premiums for consumers. Kynect is currently funded through a 1 percent assessment on plans sold through the exchange. Under the federal system, that assessment would rise to the surcharge on insurance plans sold on the federal exchange of 3.5 percent.
So the Kentucky program is a good deal for purchasers and for insurance companies too! Mr. Beaverin, those who cannot do math should hire advisors who can. Your Obama Derangement Syndrome is showing.
Please join me in my mission to expose and laugh at the stupid and ugly in our public figures. You may find other sayings by the same public figures equally as bad or worse compared to the beastly sayings I've chosen. In other words, your cringeage may vary. Please feel free to discuss.
As promised, just for fun is a photo of a beaver family building a dam. They're cute and hardworking, what more could you want?
