This video has made the rounds under the heading "Ted Cruz Throws Hissy Fit," but what I've not seen is notice taken of the remarkable way he begins this segment of his speech.
"You want to understand the volcanic frustration with Washington? It's that the Republican leadership in both houses will not fight for a single priority that we promised the voters we would fight for when we were campaigning less than a year ago."

I mean, if you have to promise you're going to accomplish crazy, impossible shit in order to get elected, something is terribly wrong here.
Something is wrong with the candidates who make these promises. Either they know full well that they won't be able to deliver, or they whip themselves, once in office, into believing that because they won the election they're now entitled to demand that the impossible shit has to happen.
And something is wrong with the nation. How have we spawned so many easily swayed, low information, fearful, tribal voters so as to make this situation possible? It boggles the mind.
A one-and-a-half minute video excerpt from his speech on the Senate floor is embedded below the squiggle. If you can stomach it.
