With friends like this, who needs the KKK?
What could go wrong with posing in a picture with your coworker's adorable child?
Just posting a photo you took with him and contributing to a slew of racist "jokes" about black people.
Shitstain Gerod Roth formerly of Polaris Marketing Group decided to do just that.
While I haven't seen whether he got permission to take a picture of his coworker's son in the first place (which I find a little weird), he definitely did not get permission to encourage and make offensive jokes at the 3 year-old's expense.
What a winner. Polaris Marketing is really missing out on this dude.
There are many, many, many more screen grabs of this asshole's and his friends' unsolicited taunts, but I don't want to make everyone vomit this early in the morning. (Some of you end up thinking you're pregnant, and then you'll have to go to a defunded Planned Parenthood.)
If he had permission to post a photo with Cayden and there was no racist subtext, that would be an entirely different matter. If I had a picture suddenly, without explanation, of a 3 year-old posing with me, my friends would probably think it was funny. But because they're not assholes (or at least, racist assholes), it wouldn't be because he was black. It would be because I typically do not have access to 3 year-olds.
The fortunate thing is that he got fired, in addition to a friend of his Emily Irene Red, who worked at a different place entirely. It's a step in the right direction that they are being punished for their heinous behavior.
People underestimate how much children pick up on bigotry and internalize it from the very beginning, whether it be racism, sexism or any other kind of monster.
This reminded me of a different kind of incident. In April, a five year-old girl was forced to change clothing because she was wearing a floor-length dress with spaghetti straps, which showed off too much skin.
As Helen Lovejoy would say, "Would someone please think of the children?"
These kids are being taught from the very beginning that they are different, that they are allowed to be treated in a different manner than the other children.
I'm just thankful that the backlash might help teach them other people don't agree with this.
