Is this hyperbole? No.
Is this snark? No.
Is this deeply concerning? Yes?
According to Politico, Republican con-man Joe Scarborough developed a policy to specifically censor the surrogates of Hillary Clinton from defending his BS on his show. We know this rule is necessary so he and Mika can bash Hillary and other Dems without challenge or interruptions. His his archaic rules:
There's a mandate on MSNBC's "Morning Joe": No candidate surrogates or spokespeople can appear on the show until the candidate agrees to be interviewed. And it all started with the Hillary Clinton campaign.
"The rule was put in place for Hillary's campaign because while just about every other candidate came on, the Clinton team kept trying to put out surrogates and staffers,” host Joe Scarborough told POLITICO. “We finally said 'not until the candidate comes on herself.' And then some suggested we have Jeb [Bush's] people on a month or so ago, but we held to the same policy."

Well, what about the cons?
But Clinton, Ben Carson, John Kasich and Marco Rubio, none of whom have appeared on the show since they announced their campaigns, will have to wait.
"It applies to everybody. It just started with Hillary because her people were aggressive with getting pollsters and spokespeople on, but it applies to everyone,” Scarborough said. “That's the fairest way to do it.”
What Joe doesn't understand is that his ignorant, self-serving rule for his right-wing, bloviated, pompous, FoxNation-lite show has Republican surrogates on every day for three-hours solid!!
For their part, many in the Clinton orbit see "Morning Joe" as one of the shows most critical of Clinton's campaign. The show often targets Clinton for her email use, and the co-hosts, Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have criticized Clinton at times for what they've deemed a lack of authenticity.
"'Morning Joe' has some of the most negative coverage of Clinton than any coverage on any network," one Clinton insider told POLITICO.
Rubio doesn't need to come on because Joe is his surrogate.
Kasich doesn't need to come on because former republican congressman Joe Scarborough will carry his water.
I'm shocked that MSNBC grants any host this much power to play "rain-maker" in the political process!!
I'll end with a quote from Salon:
I’m struggling to recall an instance in which a pundit has so self-indulgently wallowed in his own arrogance and sense of entitlement. Everyone gets something wrong every now and then, and the proper thing to do when those things happen is to correct the record, apologize, and move on. For Scarborough, though, the act of correction is an assault on the misbegotten pride he feels in hosting a low-rated and unwatchable morning news program.
