It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, and I just returned from my first Thanksgiving in four years.
I am thankful.
To be happy, healthy, and able to spend today with family. I am indeed lucky and I know it.
To have been able to see the Texas part of the family this year.
To have seen my daughter and know her health is improving.
To see my Dad laughing at the table instead of staying in the shell of his grief after losing my Mom.
I am grateful for having the BEST mother ever; death does not take that away from me.
To have a nephew who thoughtfully video-chatted my son on the iPhone so I could see him.
To have spent time with all but two of my siblings this weekend.
That Mr. B. will always drive massive amounts so I can see my family.
Well, Mr. B. in general is pretty awesome; he never minds when he comes home to pieces of the house missing.
I am especially grateful that the multi-car pile-up I saw resulted in no injuries, when I thought there were multiple fatalities.
To live in North America. It could be so much worse.
For all of you. We may argue (a lot) but having a bunch of smart progressives to argue with is amazing. I am more engaged now. Also, I just know a heck of a lot more, because I learn from all of you. Every day.
I know most of you will not be doing Thanksgiving for a month, and I will be thankful then too. But I just got home, and here was there first place I went. To my wonderful fellow Kossacks.
Thank you.
