Gowdy: Liar or revealer of top secret information
After so much
Sturm und Drang regarding Rep Trey Gowdy's
altering of documents in an attempt to smear Hillary Clinton and the
CIA in turn exposing Gowdy as a liar,
this is funny and telling:
Gowdy then released the full text of the March 18, 2011, message from Blumenthal, minus the identity of the supposed Libya intelligence source. But Gowdy included Blumenthal’s full subject line, which did have the name of an individual apparently blanked out in the rest of the email: Mousa Kousa, Libya’s foreign minister (and previously its intelligence chief), who made a highly publicized defection to the United Kingdom that same month. [My emphasis]
This after declaring on
October 7 that the name was top secret "due to sources and methods:"
In one email, Blumenthal writes "Tyler spoke to a colleague currently at CIA, who told him the agency had been dependent for intelligence from [redacted due to sources and methods] ." This information, the name of a human source, is some of the most protected information in our intelligence community, the release of which could jeopardize not only national security but also human lives.
After all this, how can Gowdy keep this sham going?
It's a disgrace and a scandal.
