Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, chair of the House "Freedom Caucus"
After
the revelation that Paul Ryan totally bartered away immigration reform in exchange for support from the House crazies, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio
promised right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham that immigration reform would never happen. That's not only because Ryan pledged not to bring it up as long as Obama was in office, he also promised not to ever do so without majority support of the GOP caucus.
“We got assurances on the immigration issue and this comprehensive Gang-of-Eight-type of plan that that’s not going to happen,” Jordan told radio host Laura Ingraham on Friday. “And frankly, in the next Congress, there’s no way something like that moves unless the majority of our conference supports it. And the majority of our conference, as you rightly point out, doesn’t support that.”
Jordan, btw, is leader of the House's so-called "Freedom Caucus."
