Welcome to Morning Open Thread, a daily post with a MOTley crew of hosts who choose the topic for the day's posting. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
This diarist, who is on Pacific Coast Time, may sometimes show up
later than when the post is published. That is a feature, not a bug.
Other than that, site rulz rule.
It was my hope to share a video with you on what I'm doing. Although I did do a video, the lighting is pretty bad, and I feel I should get things looking right before I post it.
I was reviewing the trailers for the latest movie releases, and I saw this movie trailer.
First. I'd like to make a few observations. Apparently this Christmas Horror movie casts Santa Claus as an action hero, bravely fighting off an anti-Santa Claus. (Is Christmas Horror its own genre now?)
In addition, it appears that someone has seen fit to revive William Shatner's career by giving him a role in the movie.
I would now like to have a moment of silence for American cinema. It's customary to have those when something is being laid to rest.
I know that this metaphorical funeral I'm trying to have won't actually prevent Hollywood from making more movies, but I'm going to pretend they have. If I stop watching trailers and never go near the cinema again, I think I have a shot at pulling it off.
