After Planned Parenthood’s endorsement of Hillary, they were bombarded on their Facebook page by enthusiastic Sanders supporters who were not pleased with the endorsement.
Planned Parenthood tweeted that they heard their supporters concerns and they wanted to clarify why Hillary was the better choice for their historic endorsement.
They didn’t attack any candidate and made it a point to note that both were very good on women’s reproductive health, but there were distinct differences in their view.
They posted a comparison chart, which showed the real differences between the two candidates. This and several other factors helped them arrive at their decision to strongly endorse Hillary.

When you see their records side by side, there’s no question why the Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. She has simply demonstrated the strongest record, clearest leadership, and most focused commitment to women’s health of any presidential candidate.
For anyone who supports Senator Sanders, know we are grateful for his strong record on reproductive rights. This endorsement doesn’t mean we’ll do anything negative about Sanders’ campaign. Instead it means that for the first time in history, we have the chance to help elect someone who’s been fighting to expand reproductive health and rights for decades to the White House, just when we need that kind of champion the most.

They also posted an additional link, in which they shared more details of Hillary’s many accomplishments. I posted several of their quoted points, but there’s more information at the link provided.
I encourage you to follow the link and read more.

FACT: Hillary Clinton helped launch the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. Teen birth rates are now at a 40-year low.
FACT: Hillary Clinton has taken every opportunity to speak out in support of Planned Parenthood, including dozens of shout-outs on the campaign trail. She's always been in Planned Parenthood's corner — more than any other presidential candidate.
FACT: Hillary Clinton chaired the 1993 task force that created the first plan for health care reform and testified on it before Congress — an unprecedented move by a presidential spouse.
FACT: As Senator, Hillary Clinton introduced 8 pieces of legislation with the clear purpose of expanding and protecting women’s access to reproductive health care — more than any other presidential candidate.
FACT: Hillary Clinton introduced the Paycheck Fairness Act in 2005, 2007 and 2009. No other presidential candidate has introduced equal pay legislation.
FACT: Hillary Clinton waged a multi-year effort — and even blocked the nomination of an FDA head with Sen. Patty Murray — to pass the law that made emergency contraception available over-the-counter.
I believe there are two defining moments that crystallize Hillary’s fight for women’s rights throughout her career and which set her apart from all the candidates.
Her fierce and unwavering support for Reproductive Rights in front of Congress in 2009. What a smack down she gave this GOP congressman in defense of women.
"You cannot have maternal health without reproductive health. And reproductive health includes contraception and family planning and access to legal, safe abortion.”
Her historic 1995 speech in Bejing, China, when she proclaimed to the world that “human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights”.
In 1995, Hillary was fighting for women all over the world!

If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights once and for all. Let us not forget that among those rights are the right to speak freely -- and the right to be heard.
Women must enjoy the rights to participate fully in the social and political lives of their countries, if we want freedom and democracy to thrive and endure. It is indefensible that many women in nongovernmental organizations who wished to participate in this conference have not been able to attend -- or have been prohibited from fully taking part.
Both our candidates are wonderful on women’s reproductive health issues and we should celebrate that we have candidates who strongly value women as equals.
In this case, and as you can clearly see, Planned Parenthood made a thoughtful and sound decision to endorse Hillary. They even reassured Sanders supporters they would not go negative against his campaign.
Some of the feedback they received on their Facebook was blunt and maybe some of it could be considered over the top, but with this response Planned Parenthood handled it all with grace.
I think this speaks volumes about this organization’s thoughtfulness and integrity.
