This is really funny. The super PAC of Republican moneybags Joe Ricketts (TD Ameritrade) is spending $600,000 to air this “anti-Bernie” ad in Iowa.
You almost have to wonder if it was actually written by the moneybag’s pro-Bernie nephew, who convinced “Uncle Joe” that this is a really, really good anti-Bernie ad!
UPDATE: In the comments, folks have rightly pointed out this ad is, indeed, parodying the big-money interests who would be against economic populism. In their eleven-dimensional chess game, these GOP geniuses think making an ad which is helpful to Bernie’s message will wound Hillary and ultimately improve their electoral chances. This is about as bright an idea as it would have been for Democrats, in 1980, to put out an ad parodying those who would be against Reagan’s conservative ideology. “He wants to cut the jobs of government bureaucrats! Ronald Reagan: Too conservative for Iowa!” Please, please, let’s have more ads from the Republicans parodying Wall Street and the wealthy and promoting economic populism. Geniuses!
