Ammon Bundy and eight other militiamen were detained by the FBI on Tuesday evening after shots were fired during a traffic stop as they headed to a community meeting nearby, according to KATU.
It is not clear who opened fire first.

UPDATE (6:03 P.M.): A member of the occupation said he could not confirm rumors that Ammon Bundy had been involved in a confrontation north of Burns, Oregon.
“Ammon had a meeting in John Day. Somewhere along 395 there was a shooting. Nobody has confirmed Ammon was involved,” said Anthony Bosworth a Yakima Washington resident who’s been at the occupied Malheur Refuge.
There has been no official confirmation from law enforcement that a shooting took place.
“No one has reported back from (Bundy’s) detail or anybody that was with him that there was any trouble,” said Bosworth.
Ammon Bundy was not in John Day for a scheduled meeting between community members and the militants. Grant County Sheriff Glenn Palmer, who helped broker the meeting, showed up briefly before leaving.
