This gives you a general idea of the disgusting, gender-baiting, sexist gutter politics that many people who support the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign are engaging in:
Former Sec. of State Madeleine Albright attempted to shame young women voters at a Hillary Clinton campaign event on Saturday, repeating her now-famous line: “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other.”
[…]
The 78-year-old diplomat, who served in the Bill Clinton White House, complained that some young women “don’t understand the importance of why young women have to support Hillary Clinton.”
You read that correctly...Madeline Albright, who was U.S. Secretary of State during Bill Clinton’s second presidential term, is trying to bully women into supporting Hillary because she’s a woman. Having seen the response on Twitter to this, I will say that a lot of women who support Bernie are absolutely outraged at Albright’s remarks, as well as remarks by Gloria Steinem basically claiming that women who support Bernie are only doing so to meet men (Steinem recently apologized for her remarks).
What is Hillary’s response to Albright’s offensive remarks? This:
Also on Sunday, Clinton said that the remark Albright delivered at a rally in Concord, New Hampshire, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other,” was nothing new. Albright has used it at least since 2008, when she supported Clinton’s first run for president, against Barack Obama.
Clinton said that the belief arose from from Albright’s own long fight for equality. Nevertheless, on Saturday, hours after Steinem’s remark, Albright’s words angered some, who found them condescending, and brought questions of gender and politics into high relief on the trail.
Clinton appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday and described Albright’s comment as a “light-hearted but very pointed remark”.
While Bernie is condemning sexists who support his campaign, Hillary is publicly defending sexist, women-shaming remarks from people who support her campaign. If, by some chance, Hillary is reading this post, I would ask her this question: Have you no sense of decency, ma’am?
