I’m pissed off at what I’m hearing. Bernie supporters are depressed. Hillary supporters are acting like it’s over and we can all go home now. So Bernie lost South Carolina — we expected that! There are a whole bunch of other states that get a say in who our candidate will be. So quit the complaining and ignore the Hillary in-your-face-you-guys-are-losers crap — a political revolution doesn’t stop with the first month of battles!
We’ve been working this since the 60’s. How could anyone think that a month of primaries would stop our determination? Bernie is our voice, and if people aren’t hearing it, and if people aren’t listening, then we have to scream louder, and we have to get their attention! Let everyone know that there is still hope to wrest our country back from the greedy fists of the corporate “lords”!
My Irish is up! I’m stubborn as hell! My ancestors came to America after enduring famines where the Lords and Ladies locked up their stores of food while the workers starved. I come from hardy and determined stock and we don’t give up!
I’ve been re-watching the series “Turn”, and they very dramatically make the point that a revolution is not won in the blink of an eye just by wishing it. It takes dedication, determination, planning, skill and HARD WORK.
They used a song in an episode that hits a chord in me right down in my Celtic DNA. It is about the Lords of England cutting down the forests and using the wood for ship building (“boys” of England refers to the royal army).
"Bonny Portmore"
O bonny Portmore, you shine where you stand
And the more I think on you the more I think long
If I had you now as I had once before
All the lords in Old England would not purchase Portmore.
O bonny Portmore, I am sorry to see
Such a woeful destruction of your ornament tree
For it stood on your shore for many's the long day
Till the long boats from Antrim came to float it away.
All the birds in the forest they bitterly weep
Saying, "Where shall we shelter or where shall we sleep?"
For the Oak and the Ash, they are all cutten down
And the walls of bonny Portmore are all down to the ground.
This: If I had you now as I had once before, All the lords in Old England would not purchase Portmore.
We are being cheated. Our labor is exploited; our trees, rivers, lands, and air are being abused; we are left to starve (yes many of us go hungry) while the lords lock up their pantries. Enough!
Hillary has been bought and paid for! She is one of the “lords” that we fight!
Let’s show them that we are made of stronger stuff!
