No, it’s not over yet. It’s insane to even suggest such a thing.
As Bernie has pointed out lately, California has 20% of all delegates that are available to candidates and it appears that the West coast is going to be one of the parts of the country where he is going to have a strong following.
And we need to remind ourselves that extraordinarily few people have ever heard about Sanders’ existence prior to this campaign and you can't get around the fact that it is going to take time to get people informed re: the man's remarkable character.
Will there be enough time before the clock runs out? That we don’t know. But it is still very encouraging when we see that he has been continuing to gain in national polling among Dems and that he polls better than Hillary vs. the Republicans.
If he can continue to make those kinds of gains nationally over the next few months, then we will have hope for---at the very least---a great opportunity to expand the consciousness of the nation.
Think about it...we’re just one unexpected Sanders victory (or near loss) over Clinton away from sending the Clinton campaign back into High Panic, and changing the MSM’s coverage of his movement.
----------------------------------------------
But above all else, I must say that even if it looks like we will come up short cuz the clock is going to run out and the stars are not quite as aligned as we hoped they’d be, I still see an extremely powerful reason to continue to invest myself fully in the Bernie Sanders story.
It is this: when I think about the efforts Hillary and her establishment supporters have made to assassinate his character and falsely characterize his ambitious proposals, I feel strongly motivated to do everything I can to SPEAK UP FOR THIS GUY and defend him in the face of all opposition.
And it means that I will continue to give him the $$ he needs to get heard.
My support for Bernie Sanders has never been just a whimsical desire to see if somebody I picked early on will win a contest. It’s always been about my yearning for Justice.
And to see this good man, this exceptional human being within the constellation of political personalities being maligned within the Democratic Party for no reason other than that his hopeful vision stands in the way of another Democrat’s personal career ambitions, it creates a feeling of moral outrage within me that I cannot contain.
Going up against the almighty power of the establishment has always been an extremely ambitious undertaking. There has always been the possibility that the forces of evil will be too strong for us to overcome with the time we have remaining (it feels like we are down three touchdowns at halftime :)
But what I am seeing is that this man and his extraordinary character and wisdom need to be defended from the calumny that has been voiced against him.
I can indeed say that this cause---the cause of Justice For Bernie Sanders---has become more important to me than winning the nomination itself.
Bernie may ultimately lose at the convention, but I will not be letting up in my efforts to see Bernie Sanders get the justice he deserves.
All those Democrats who have been been misled and manipulated by the cynical machinations of Clinton strategists need to be made aware of the magnitude of their error, the injustice they have participated in, and the foolishness of their blind loyalty to ‘senior Party personalities.’
No matter what results we see tonight and Tuesday...
I want to see ultimate justice for Bernie and his story, period. That cause resonates with every fiber in my political body. I want to loudly proclaim his virtuous mind and soul to all the naysayers, beginning with those in the Dem Party.
.
So excuse me while I go send another $50 to his campaign...
