On the home front, Bernie stands for everything I believe in. He isn’t taking money from Wall Street and the bankers. He isn’t in bed with the payday lenders. He doesn’t just say liberal things when his back is to the wall. He didn’t help write the TPP and then say “Oh, there are a few things that bother me.”
How could one not have understood that writing a trade bill in secret with no input from labor, from environmentalists, from the ACLU, from human rights activists is a stake in the heart of democracy?
Bernie is more conservative than I on foreign policy but at least he voted against the Iraq war. I hope if we get big money out of politics, our leaders will be more receptive to ending these horrendous wars.
Now is the time to stick to our principles and vote for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Now is not the time to capitulate to wall street and the multi-national corporations. Every candidate but Bernie stands with the rich.
The far right tells their constituents, if you let us take all your money, we will embrace your bigotry, your misogyny, your ignorance on climate change and evolution. We encourage you to hate all people of color as long as you give us all your money. We’ll let you buy all the guns you want, all we care about is the money.
Moderates, like Clinton, say give us your money and we will support planned parenthood and gay rights and voter’s rights. But our heart belongs to the big banks, the insurance companies, the multi-national corporations.
Please don’t try to scare me into capitulating, accepting the lesser of evils.
We need Bernie! We need a revolution!
