I guess Fox News is at the 5th stage: Acceptance.
Sean Hannity loves him some Trump. He couldn’t stop tweeting (8 times in 24 hours) about his upcoming interview with the Donald in conjunction with his (ill-fated) rally at Fayetteville, North Carolina. Sean was so gushy over the Donald, that Mr. Drumpf went right back to him to explain his no-show in Chicago. (Spoiler: it was “those" people.)
Sean went overboard, as usual, and actually said this.
2016 GOP front-runner Donald Trump canceled a campaign rally in Chicago earlier tonight amid security concerns. Now this after violent agitators hijacked what was to be a peaceful campaign rally.
[...]
We have statements that actually prove this fact -- and we've been watching our own coverage here on Fox -- and some people with Bernie Sanders, Moveon.org put out a statement that Mr. Trump, Republican leaders who support him, his hate-filled rhetoric should be put on notice after tonight's events. They actually said that. That these protests are a direct result of violence that occur at Trump rallies. Well, I don't see any violence at Trump rallies. And I have been watching and flipping the dial tonight and somehow people have been trying to flip this on you, some of your competitors and, frankly, some pretty ignorant so-called journalists have been trying to do the same thing. As if you stating your political opinions is responsible for this. And I want to give you a chance to respond to that. We have seen a lot of this before you even got in this race in Ferguson and Baltimore. The murder rate in the city of Chicago is a national disgrace.
Peaceful rally? One thing Donald’s white power rallies are not, by any stretch of the imagination, are peaceful. No one ever has any safety concerns attending a “Bernie rally"... or a "MoveOn rally" (if such a thing existed.) But you take your life in your hands being nonwhite at a Trump rally. It’s very telling when folks who cover Trump’s rallies have to begin their diaries by saying “I am safe”!
So, you haven’t seen ANY violence, Sean? Really?? Jeez, everyone knows you are lazy about doing research, but this was on the freaking Front Page of CNN regarding the EXACT same place where you talked with the Donald:
Trump rally attendee charged with assault
A man who attended Donald Trump's rally in North Carolina was arrested and charged Thursday after multiple videos posted online appear to show him punching a protester in the face and later saying,
"The next time we see him, we might have to kill him."
Sean's strong defense of Trump’s ultra-violent "peaceful rallies" played REAL well with the white supremacist crowd, by the way. The Daily Stormer featured the interview on their website. (It’s below their tab on the "Jewish Problem".) The Gateway Pundit screamed "FINALLY! A reporter who puts the blame on the violent Communist thugs...”
(OK--- only one of those sites is actually dedicated to white supremacy, but as with most rightwing sites these days, I’m having trouble telling them apart.)
Being black, Hispanic, or Muslim is especially dangerous at these events. A female journalist of Arabic descent is consistently threatened whenever she covers Trump at these rallies. She notes that Trump supporters sometimes yell the exact same words Trump uses to describe them in his speeches.
She said she is more terrified of going to a Trump rally than covering an active war zone in Iraq!
Donald Trump actually encourages this kind of violent behavior. These are actual quotes of his regarding protestors:
If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously. Okay? Just knock the hell -- I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.
I'd like to punch him in the face, I'll tell ya.
I’ll be a little more violent...
Maybe he should have been roughed up because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing.
I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks
Taunting a protestor: Are you from Mexico?
When Trump supporters beat a Hispanic man with a metal pipe and then urinated on him, Trump said he "admired their passion”.
Even white people who aren't Trump supporters are in danger. Former Breitbart blogger Michelle Fields has filed charges against Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, for assault. Despite photographic evidence of bruises on her arm, and despite a Washington Post reporter witnessing the incident, the Trump campaign denies it.
On a sidenote: just to show you what kind of a bastard organization that Breitbart is---they completely threw their OWN PERSON under the bus to stand by Trump! A former Breitbart spokesman was so enraged about this, he resigned and went on CNN to say what everyone else already knew—Breitbart lies:
I could go on, but I won’t.
I was going to close with a statement telling Breitbart, Fox, Donald and his Nazi thugs to all go F themselves. However, instead, I’ll share with you the message that this wonderful young man sent to me. He was a Trump rally victim; in fact, you might know him. He was the one who was infamously spat upon at a Trump rally in Richmond, Virginia.
Luckily, he found out who the person was who did that and is currently working on pressing charges. He messaged me this:
Just want ppl to know that whatever race you are in this country, we have rights and they need to be respected, and if you are silent, you are allowing for injustice. We have to lift our voices cuz we make America.
I think you’ll agree that was more articulate than what I was going to say, and waaay more articulate than anything that comes from the mouths of the spitting, beating, pushing, hate-spewing monsters you see marching for Trump at his rallies.
If you do decide to protest at one, and/or if you do decide to engage in a dialogue with one of Trump’s people there, all I can say is, please, despite Fox’s assurances, it is not at all safe. Please, just watch your back.
