Realists who care about women’s health and reproductive rights believe the FDA-approved label change is a positive sign.
“This is a major shift both in closing the gap between science and legal regulation and in enabling women to exercise their constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy,” said Suzanne B. Goldberg, a law professor at Columbia University who specializes in sexuality and gender law.
The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said in a statement that it was “pleased that the updated F.D.A.-approved regimen for mifepristone reflects the current available scientific evidence and best practices.”
This further emphasizes the importance of voting in the 2016 presidential election and state races. A Republican president will most likely appoint anti-choice extremists to their cabinet and to head up federal agencies. Republican lawmakers who win seats in the House and Senate will introduce and pass bills that chip away the rights of women. This is not a scare tactic. This is not propaganda. This is the truth and it’s based on public record. The future is up to the American voters. For most women, the choice for president should be easy this November. The question is — will women vote? The next question is, “Can you imagine a Donald Trump or Ted Cruz for president?” My work here is done here. Of course, I jest. The work of millions of women and men will never be done when it comes to fighting for reproductive, equal, and human rights for ourselves, our daughters and the future of women around the world.
