Multiple media outlets have now called Ted Cruz as the winner of the Republican primary in Wisconsin. With just 6 percent of precincts reporting, Cruz leads Donald Trump 50-34, with John Kasich far behind at 14. Thanks to the way Wisconsin allocates delegates, it’s possible we’ll see a clean sweep for Cruz. The chief effect of that would be to make it harder for Trump to win an outright majority of delegates before the convention, but demographics show that Wisconsin was never likely to be one of Trump’s better states. We’ll see if he does better in the states to come. Onward the contest marches!
