I have a 96 year old relative who was woken up in the night recently by a knocking sound in the house. It’s surprising because her hearing isn’t that good anymore and she sleeps soundly. After checking around the house she found her 20 year old grandson in the closet of the bedroom next to hers. He was in a coma curled up underneath a garment bag. He had had a medical emergency so sever that he hadn’t been able to inject the full syringe he still was holding.
She called his mother over and they called 911. It took a lot of effort for the medic’s to get him out of the closet since he was jammed in there in an awkward position. His body temperature was in the 80’s. He was put in intensive care, pumped full of antibiotics and sedated. He was in critical condition. Rather surprisingly he regained consciousness the next day. Since he had been pressed up against the wall for several hours he had some muscle damage in his leg from compartment syndrome.
An emergency room physician said that his brother had died from an overdose and he was going to give him a talk after he was able to listen. I doubt it will help.
On MSNBC there was an interview in Rochester NY today with a Trump support who said he was supporting Trump since his son had died from an overdose a couple of years ago, and Donald had a plan to build a wall which would stop the flow of heroin into the country. This is the most concrete anti-heroin plan I’ve heard put forth. Can’t argue with his logic. Sure it’s a stupid idea, but a man with a dead son has a right to support anything he wants.
Looking at the drug kit above I finally understand why the grandmother’s spoons disappeared totally in the last couple of years.

If you have any drug user stories please make a comment. No solutions though I don’t believe them.
