It’s clear that whichever Democrat wins the nomination, they will have to work with Republicans — and therefore, compromise on some of their campaign promises.
So I’ve been thinking a lot about this. Where do Clinton and Sanders stand before the compromise happens.
- Clinton is in favor of $12 minimum wage nationally, before compromising.
- Clinton is in favor of fracking with some limitations, before compromising.
- Clinton is in favor of military interventions and coups, before compromising.
- Clinton is not willing to lift the cap on Social Security, before compromising.
- Clinton doesn’t want singe payer healthcare, but wants to expand ACA, before compromising.
- Sanders is in favor of $15 minimum wage nationally, before compromising.
- Sanders has said no to fracking, before compromising.
- Sanders does not believe in military intervention, before compromising.
- Sanders in favor of lifting the cap on Social Security, before compromising.
- Sanders believes in single payer healthcare, before compromising.
These are just some of the issues. The disappointment strikes me when I think about how little progress we are actually making in our party and in our country. Incrementally moving forward doesn’t help when the planet is being cooked, or when our sick are dying bankrupt and alone. When our kids have more debt than any kids in the world.
What compromise are you willing to make.
