So let’s take a look at who has won states won by Obama, either both times or one time, and how many electoral votes each has.
Start with those Obama won both times
Sanders has won the following:
NH 4
VT 3
CO 9
MN 10
ME 4
HA 4
MI 16
WA 12
WI 10
for a total of 72 electoral votes
Clinton has won the following:
IA 6
NV 6
MA 11
VA 13
FL 29
IL 20
OH 18
for a total of 113
She also won NC, won by Obama in 2008, with 15 EV, but for now we will leave that out.
So far, among Blue states, Clinton leads Sanders 113-72 in electoral votes
In the next 9 days, we have the following, in all of which Clinton seems to be favored
NY 29
CT 7
DE 3
MD 8
PA 20
RI 4
Of these, in theory Sanders could win CT and RI, although I tend to think not. But for sake of analysis, let’s presume he did, narrowly.
Clinton would add 70 EV and Sanders 11
That would change that ratio to 183-83
And if we added in NC, it would be 198-83.
Now, what is this about Clinton only winning in the Deep South?
