By now, you’ve figured out the reason behind the premature kosjaculation behind the 3/15 edict, right? It wasn’t “The Math”.
Well, it kinda was.
If, by “The Math”, we admit that the last thing the Clinton Campaign and its supporters (or, stenographers) wanted was to have to keep trying to make the case about “The Math” for yet another month straight as their candidate lost contest after contest after contest in state after state after state, often by double digit margins or complete political landslides.
But, here they are. A month later…
Not only forced to continue to make the case about “The Math”, but also…
- forced to suffer defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat in state after state after state after state after state after state after state for the last month straight
- forced to play defense in their candidate’s third home state a full month after they declared the race over
- forced to face even the possibility of a LOSS in that third home state when original polling showed a 50-point blowout
- forced to come up with increasingly-laughable excuses for their candidate’s failure to release her Wall Street speeches made for millions while their illegal activity ruined the economy
- forced to endure the continued scrutiny of their candidate’s vacillating positions
- forced to hope the other shoe doesn’t yet drop in an expanding criminal FBI investigation
- forced to face the optics of private fundraisers in the mansions of millionaires while yet another record of small dollar donations fuels headlines for the challenger
- forced to explain how it is that their inevitable nominee still finds herself in the position of fending off a challenge that was fringe from the start and never going to last this long
- forced to find new and interesting ways to try to quell the increasingly expanding reach of and support for the challenger’s message
- forced to watch their delegate lead continually shrink as the challenger racks up wins and expands upon previous wins or even flips delegate losses to wins during subsequent delegate counts in caucus states
- forced to watch the challenger raise more campaign contributions than their candidate in back-to-back months
- forced to watch their candidate flounder in additional debates as she tries to search for a non-answer that placates all sides
- forced to watch the rainbow-farting unicorn pipe dreams of $15 an hour become reality as their candidate scrambles to try and claim credit after opposing the fight for $15
- forced to face the reality of all these things (and more) they’ve been forced to do as a result of their failure to force their challengers to capitulate in defeat and end this race on 3/15
Got it now?
This is nearly the last place they wanted to be more than a month after they declared it over.
Believe that.
